Probably one of the saddest things I have witnessed. Children being carried over the roof of Villaggio seemingly unconscious. Through my lens I could see the expressions on the emergency servicemen’s faces, and I could only imagine what they are seeing that I am not. It is the first time I have ever had tears in my eyes while looking through a viewfinder.
In the distance I can hear women screaming in what sounded like grief. The noise is filling my ears even now. Men shouting orders, sirens and emergency services everywhere
